Cathyrn Holland, a senior carer has won a Heart of Gold Award at a ceremony at Honey Lane Care Home in Waltham Abbey today, Wednesday September 16th. Cathryn has worked at Honey Lane for 7 years.

The Awards seek to recognise employees for their dedication and commitment in providing high quality care and compassion to all the home’s residents.

Karen Dean, manager of Honey Lane said: “Those who have been nominated do not just do their jobs, they consistently demonstrate compassion and dedication to make our residents lives better each and every day.

Cathryn will do anything for the residents and their relatives and she is a great support for the staff too.  Kind and compassionate she really does have a heart of gold”.

Cathryn was presented with an etched glass plaque to commemorate her success and a Tiffany necklace by Carebase Chairman Alnur Dhanani.  Nominations for the award came from residents and their relatives, co-workers, social workers and local health professionals.

Cathryn said: “I am totally overwhelmed to win this year’s Heart of Gold.  This is for everybody at Honey Lane as we all work so hard together to improve the lives of our residents and make every day special”.
